Slalom Start Beginners Courses 2026

Our hugely popular PaddleUK Slalom Start course is back for 2026!

This 12-week course equips youngsters aged around 8-12 with the skills and confidence to take part in their first races.

To register you need to do 2 things:

1 – Click the button above to register and pay for a course.

2 – Wait for the course to start – At the end of March we will email our details of clothing etc. There is no need for specialist equipment at this time but a pair of water shoes would be beneficial.

The course price of £80 covers:

• 10 evening sessions with our experienced, fully accredited slalom coaches
• Informal peer information sessions for parents
• Kit hire, including boat, paddle, buoyancy aid, helmet and spraydeck
• Off-site training day at Stafford & Stone Canoe Club
• Entry fee and coach support at the Marple Slalom event
• Coach support at Stone Slalom event

Those who choose to continue with MCC Marlins weekly sessions after the course will also get the following for FREE:

• Manchester Canoe Club membership until end of December 2026
• Weekly coached evening sessions at Manchester Canoe Club
• Use of boat and kit for all club events and off-site races until the end of 2026
